Sybil Shatswell

A recently discovered chancery suit of 1627 shows that there were five Shatswell siblings: John, Theophilus, Margaret (married by then to Matthew Curwen), Mary (married John Webster) and Sybil, and that Judith, the widow of their unnamed father, died in about 1612/13. Macdonald reconstructs the family, believing that Theophilus was born about 1599, noting that Davis estimated that the correct birth date was about 1616.

The fate of Sybil is not known, but the other siblings emigrated to Ipswich in the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
