About Symon Onge
Biography
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/55112104/symon-onge
SYMON, 7th known child of Edmond & Frances (Read) Onge, was baptized 11 April 1619 & died in late 1678, apparently unmarried.
In the 1643/4 land inventories, Simon Onge held three lots, none of which had been granted to him. Reconstruction of Watertown lands shows that the second and third of these had earlier been held by Henry Dow. Only the first of his holdings, three acres of upland, might have been earlier in the possession of his mother, and even this is far from certain.
On 20 February 1646/7 Simon Onge of Watertown sold to Jonas Eaton his house and ground in Watertown. (This was the second item in Simon's land inventory, and was sold immediately by Eaton. In fact the date of Eaton's sale precedes the date of purchase; both transactions probably took place well before the date on the deeds.)
Simon Onge died intestate in Cambridge Village [Newton] late in 1678, and administration was granted on 21 December 1678 to "Jacob Ong ... his brother."
