About Tabitha Elizabeth Chandler

Robert Chandler ll married Elizabeth Palmer in 1683 at St Peters, New Kent, Virginia. Elizabeth Palmer's mother Elizabeth Mallory was the daughter of Captain Roger Mallory, son of Reverend Thomas Mallory who in turn was the son of Sir John Mallory. Sir John Mallory was one of the gentlemen that held shares in the Virginia Land Company in 1606 that founded the Jamestown Colony in America. Sir John's wife Ann Eure was a direct descendant of John DeBaliol, King of Scotland. Ann's father, William Eure sold their lands in Scotland granted to them by the Crown and kept in the family for 400 years, to Sir Robert Foster.

Elizabeth Palmer's father was Martin Palmer Jr. son of Major Martin Palmer. Major Palmer is listed as a military officer in New Kent, Virginia in 1680 and living at Pamunkey Neck Community. Major Palmer was Reverend Thomas Palmer whose father was Edward Palmer of London, England. Edward had received a land patent from the Virginia Land Company on July 3th, 1622.

Robert and Elizabeth Chandler lived at New Kent, Virginia, on land that was inherited from his father Robert Chandler's estate in 1669. The land was in Chiskiak Parrish, which is roughly the area today between Yorktown and Williamsburg. In 1732 Robert was granted 400 more acres in Goochland County, Virginia.
