Mundator and author is the recipient writer PD, whose activity is otherwise attested in St. Pantaleon of 1139 until after 1144, see. WAY, ibid p.10, 19, 37-41, 90. He initially wrote the context and dating line. In calculating the date he came to millesimo CXXX, indictione VIIIa, anno Vo, which he corrected to millesimo CXXXII, indictione Xa, anno Viio, see. HIRSCH / Ottenthal, DLo.III. 40 S. 66 Note f, g and h When Mundierung he apparently used a record that only the pontificate year Archbishop Bruno of Cologne offered as Date:.. Anno Pontificatus domni Brunonis II Coloniensis archiepiscopi Io. After Lothar's imperial coronation he added in a third step, add the Invocatio and Intitulatio Lotharius dei gratia Imperator Augustus Romanorum while he was standing in the dating Lothar royal title (Lotharii tercii gloriosissimi regis Romanorum). The monogram has the same shape as in the VU. The still preserved fragment of the seal shows remnants of an impression of Emperor Lothar Siegel, whose fixing contrary to the view of HIRSCH / Ottenthal, DLo.III. 40, Preliminary remarks, no cause for concern there, see. WAY, supra 38. The certification of mundi Erten from receiver side diploma was done so after Lothar's imperial coronation probably the earliest after returning from the expedition to Rome and perhaps in December 1133, see. Reg. 383rd The action may have taken place on 18 March 1132, since Lothar stayed according to the preceding calendar entry at this time in Cologne. Some of the listed in the diploma witnesses, including Bishop Alexander of Liege and the Duke of Lower Lorraine Walram - contrary to the erroneous statement by HIRSCH / Ottenthal, DLo.III. 40, Preamble, but not the papal legate Wilhelm - are called in Bruno's charter of 1132 for the monastery of Siegburg, s KNIPPING, Regesten Cologne 2 No. 292, E. Heinrich von Arscheid aka Heinrich IV of Brabant are the same person... ? ''It would explain the name Arscheid and Arschott connection''

==Arscheid and Arschott References==

On 22 May 877, under Hildigrim II, the monastery, which up to that time had been the property of the family of Saint Ludger, obtained, Imperial immediacy, which amounted to the right of free abbatical election and immunity. Henceforth the abbots of Werden were imperial princes and had a seat in the Imperial Diet. The abbey church of Werden, destroyed by fire in 1256, was rebuilt in the late-Romanesque style (1256–75). Two of the most obscure yet intriguing men to hold seats of authority in Werden Abbey (found in the Archives in North Rhine-Westphalia), were Abt Johann I., (1330-44) and Abt Johann II. von Arscheid (Arscheyt, Arschott-Brabant), (1344-60).

In 1344 enfeoffed the abbot of Werden, John of Arscheid, the Sweder of Friemersheim with the courts Friemersheim, Hochemmerich, Asterlagen, Bergheim, Östrum, Rumeln, Kaldenhausen and just chapels.

He succeeded his father as Duke at the age of 10 years under the guardianship of his mother. Their rule was by her brother Henry I of Hesse and a cousin, Henry of lions, Lord of Gaesbeek, contested.

Henry IV., 'supposedly', resigned his office in favor of his brother in 1267 Johann I returned. He was a novice at the Abbey of Saint Benigne in Dijon (Burgundy), where he made his vows on October 1, 1269. The last testimony comes from him dated 28 April 1272nd

=== Biography ===

Teutonic Knight Charter

Did Knight, Heinrich (Vogt von Hachenburg) von Arscheid die in 1271 or 1286? Or is this Heinrichs wife, Heilwig's (von Schidderich or Scheiderich) death in 1286?

Note: the official church record says he died in 1271 but according to the Order of Teutonic Knights he died in 1286.

Heinrich von Westerburg

The only connection that would prove Heinrich von Westerburg' to be the father, if he, himself, were a 'Weid-Neuenburg' or if the identity of his wife revealed she was of 'von Wied-Neuenburg of Sayn'. (NOTE (6-10-2013): It appears that Heinrich von Westerburg's mother is a Wied-Neuenburg- unless my original assumption is true about the identity of his wife. Could it be 'Rorich and Hedwig von Wied-Neuenburg' were in fact 'Heinrich von Westerburg's', wife's parents? If so, that would make more sense considering the Arscheid (Aerscheyt) family were Southern Brabants of the Aerschot lineage. For this to make sense, Heinrichs parents must be of Runkel-Aerschot lineage. This gives us a clue as to who his parents were... It's simple deductive reasoning at this point. Which 'Runkel' and 'Aerschot' lineage is available that could possibly reveal 'Heinrich von Westerburg's' parents?

According to, 'Annalen des Vereins für Nassauische Alterthumskunde und Geschichtisforschung, Volumes 26-28 by Dr. Cary Coolidge', Heinrich I, von Westerburg is Rorich's father.

Dr. Coolidge dates Heinrich (I.) von Westerburg born around or after (circa) 1200 - (1220?), while the current dates are of his death is c 1288.

D1. Heinrich I von Westerburg, +k.a.Worringen 1288; m.before VII.1267 Agnes von Isenburg (+after 1319).
Considering, 'Heinrich I, Vogt von Hachenburg' died in the year 1286, that would mean his Grandfather outlived him. Even though it's likely, Heinrich von Arscheid (Vogt von Hachenburg) died early in life, it remains a mathematical improbability. It would be more believable that Heinrich would be 'Heinrich von Westerburg' as well. Dr. Coolidge dates Heinrich II (III.?) von Arscheid (Vogt von Hachenburg) death around (circa) 1270 (1271?) and Wed (No proof yet that they formally married at all), Irmgard producing an 'Illegitimate' daughter Elisabeth von Arscheid (Canoness of St. Cacilia at Cologne).

Another issue with Dr. Coolidge's genealogy, is the fact that he lists 'Rorich, Vogt von Hackeneburg' as the father of 'Heinrich II (III.?) von Arscheid', when his mother is 'Heilwig von Schidderich' not 'Guda von Greiffenstein' (His Grandmother!).

'von Blankenburg' Genealogy

If we suppose that neither Christian of Blankenberg nor his brother Rorich of Blankenberg were the father Heinrich von Hachenburg and consider the fact (according to archived record held by the Teutonic Order), that Heinrich von Arscheid, Vogt von Hachenburg died in 1286, something uncanny is revealed.

Notice in the Genealogy below that Dietrich I, Herr von Heinsburg und Blankenburg married to Johanna de Louvain have a child born who is reported to have died in 1287... More than a coincidence.===

He must have been a brother or stepbrother:

A (step?)brother of this Ernst von Virneburg was the noble man Heinrich von Ascheid, the steward von/of Hachenburg (documental 1241-1271).

(Parenthetical, '(stief-step?)' by the author- Dr. Thomas Bohn)
Already his father, Rorich Vogt von Hachenburg (documental 1215-1237), has been long in his/Sayner service.

- In the service of Mathilde von Sayn.

- 1083 says that Rorich's identity is not clear, and to look Gensicke (1987), page 200. It also says that when they changed their job, their byname/surname could have changed.
