Captain Ebenezer Townsend was her 2nd husband and his 2nd wife, by whom daughter Grace Townsend b. at New Haven in 1789 m. Nathan Starr, Jr of Middletown, and became the grandparents of the eminent historian and genealogist Frank Farnsworth Starr of Middletown.

Thankful's 1st husband was Rev. Allyn Mather, who d. in 1785 either at Savanah, Georgia.

Thankful Sophia Barnard, daughter of Captain Ebenezer Barnard and his 1st wife Thankful Nichols, bp. of record Mar. 24, 1750/1 at the Hartford 1st Ch. She d. Aug. 19, 1828, Æ 78 (g.s.) at Middletown, Connecticut. while residing with the family of her son-in-law, Nathan Starr, Jr.

In or about 1774, Thankful m. 1) Rev. Allyn Mather, s. of Nathaniel Mather and Elizabeth Allyn, b. of record Apr. 10, 1747 at Windsor, Connecticut. In February 1773 he was ordained pastor of the newly formed Fair Haven Cong. Church at New Haven, Connecticut. Unfortunately, he was feeble man and d. Nov. 4, 1784 at Savannah, Georgia while attempting to regain his health. They had four children who are summarized in their father's memorial.

On Nov. 20, 1785 at the New Haven 1st Church, Thankful m. 2) as his 2nd wife, Captain Ebenezer Townsend, Jr., son of Ebenezer Townsend and Elizabeth Larmon, b. July 27, 1742 at New Haven. He d. July 21, 1824 at New Haven, Æ 82. They had two children b. at New Haven who are summarized in their father's memorial.

The August 1810 census clearly shows Thankful and 2nd husband Ebenezer Townsend were then residents of New Haven. On June 25, 1810 their daughter Grace married Nathan Starr, Jr. at Middletown, with the curious 1820 census inferring that Thankful and Ebenezer had relocated to Middletown, Connecticut.

Grace (Townsend) Starr was the grandmother of the eminent historian and genealogist Frank Farnsworth Starr (1852-1939) of Middletown.
