Sacré évêque le 1 mai 1874 à Montréal par Mgr Taschereau.
Sépulture : "Archbishop Édouard-Charles Fabre was buried at the Cathédrale de Saint Jacques de Montréal on January 5, 1897. In 1973, the Université du Québec à Montréal purchased the cathedral which was then demolished, except for the spire and transept which were designated historic monuments. At that time, the remains of the archbishop were exhumed and transferred to a funeral chapel at Mary, Queen of the World Cathedral (Basilique Marie-Reine-du-monde) in Montréal.
