Deed records place the Lazure's/Lazear's in Prince George's County just prior to the formation of Frederick. The Mallots may have been living in an area of Prince George's County that was taken for the new county of Frederick.
From "A Perrin History" by Richard Perrin Day (covering "John Perrin of colonial Maryland"):
Pg. 34:
17 January 1750 The will of Theodores Malott; John Perrin named executor. Will witnessed by Joseph and Joseph Jr.
Lazer [20].
Pg. 36:
Theodores Malot probably lived a mile or two north of Perrin, judging from later land maps; the significance of his involvement with that will [20] is discussed later in this chapter.
Pg. 40
John Perrin’s Wife
Because of the estate inventory, where Thomas and Joseph Lazear state they are John Perrin’s next of kin, others have thought that one or both of John Perrin’s daughters married a Lazear. Joseph Lazear, Sr., settled on the Patuxent River following his marriage to Susannah Webb in 1702 in Ann Arundel County. He, as well as children Joseph, Thomas, John, Elizabeth, Mary and Deborah were naturalized by an act of the Maryland colonial legislature in 1721 [29]. They did not move to the Marsh Creek area until after 1748; the family is not mentioned in that region before the Malot will (cited above) from 1750 [20].
Without trying to describe this family in depth, I can say there is no clear candidate among the Lazears who may have married a Perrin daughter. Also, there are good indications that the Perrin daughters married others, as shown above. At this point I can only conclude that the reason Thomas and Joseph Lazear can state they are next of kin is because they are John’s brothers-in-law. Much more concerning the Lazear family is discussed in the blog section of the hypertext version of this book.

The second and largest influx of Protestant arrivals from France began in the last quarter of the 17th century. Louis XIV renewed the persecution of Protestants in a series of harsh repressive measures which culminated in the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes in 1685 and the determined effort not only to crush all practice of the Reformed religion in France but to forcibly convert all Protestants to Catholicism.
This tragic and misguided action drove from France hundreds of thousands of her most able and industrious people. It enriched those countries and colonies who, wisely, offered them shelter.
England was the place of refuge for Huguenots from the maritime provinces of western France: Poitou, Saintonge, anad Aunis. A smaller number came from the rest of France, especially Normandy. From England, thousands migrated to the colonies in America.
Jean Maynard, in his history of Saint-Esprit, estimates that the French Church of New York received about one-quarter of one percent of the overall Huguenot immigration. This percentage was enough, however, to dramatically increase the French-speaking population of New York. By 1697, according to Dr. Maynard, there were 4,000 inhabitants of New York City and, of that number, about 15 percent were Huguenots.
The first independent French Church was organized under the Rev. Pierre Daille who had been a professor at the French Protestant college of Saumur before it was closed by order of the king and its faculty banished. Seeking refuge in Holland, Mr. Daille then went to London where he received Anglican holy orders. He came to America to work with the French and Dutch, not only in Manhattan, but in the surrounding area, going on a regular schedule to Huguenot communities in New Paltz, Staten Island, and New Jersey.
In 1687 he was aided by the arrival of the Rev. Pierre Peiret, a native of Languedoc in the South of France. Concentrating on the French of New York while Mr. Daille continued his work in the surrounding area, Mr. Peiret organized the first French congregation to have its own edifice. This small church was located on what was then called Petticoat Lane, later Marketfield Street. Today it is Battery Place between Broadway and West Streets. It was called simply "L'Eglise Francaise a la Nouvelle York."

Theodorus Marlet. *
Theodorus Marlet (also written Theodore Marlett, Malott, and Melott), the son of Jean Pierre Marlet and Marie Bellemain, was born on 27 January 1694 in New York. He was subsequently christened in the Staten Island French Church, Richmond County, New York on 28 March 1694.
Theodorus later moved to Middlesex County, New Jersey, where his name was found on a list of Middlesex County militia members serving in the 4th Company under the command of Colonel Thomas Farmer in 1715.
Theodorus was apparently married twice during his lifetime. He married as his first wife, a woman named Catherine Maple in New Jersey. She was the daughter of Benjamin Maple. Catherine, who was the mother of three children by Theodorus, appears to have died in New Jersey in 1725/26.
After his first wife passed away, Theodorus married for a second time to a woman named Catherine De La Chaumette (also written De Lashmutt). Although no record of this marriage has been found, it is believed to have taken place in New Jersey in about 1727.
Catherine, who appears to have been born in about 1707 in New Jersey, was the daughter of Pierre De La Chaumette.
Several years later, Theodorus and his family appear to have left New Jersey and moved to the State of Maryland. Upon arriving in Maryland, they settled in that portion of Prince George's County that was later made a part of Frederick County, Maryland in 1748.
Theodorus, who was styled planter, died in Frederick County, Maryland in 1751. His will, which was written on 17 January 1750, was probated on 19 March 1751.
His widow, Catherine, also passed away in Frederick County. Her will, which had been written on 27 December 1770, was subsequently probated before the Frederick County Court on 15 January 1771.
The six children from Theodorus' second marriage to Catherine De La Chaumette were named in Catherine's will.
