Theresa Hubersburger was born Jan 9,1837 in
Orderen Alsace France the daughter of
Texas Colonizer Peter Blutzer
shortly after settling near the Coleto Creek
in 1842. Her Father provided food to an
Indian seeking corn for his starving people.
Soon afterward Theresa wandered off and
disappeared without a trace many months
past. Then one day an Indian was seen
riding by and Theresa was found in the woods
near the family home according to family legend.
The Indian who received food from Bluntzer was visiting
an Indian village when he spotted the blonde
Theresa. He then told of the Bluntzer's kindness
to his people, and it was decided to return her.
Theresa lived with the Indians long enough to learn
their language. Years later she entertained he children
with stories of indian life and hair raising war whoops.
She married Frederich Christian Horsdorff in 1856.
Their children were Fannie (Mrs Herman Moeller), William Fred
and Christian. After Frederich's death Theresa married
Joseph Hubersburger. Their children were Joe and Pete.
Theresa died Dec 21,1892.
