However, since his baptism is recorded in the NY DRC he could have been born in New Amsterdam before the family moved to Brooklyn. He was christened 22 Feb 1660. Witnesses: Theunis Gysbertszen, Pieter Pieterszen Mennist and Annetje Hans. Theunis died before 25 Mar 1661 in New York. On 3/25/1661 another son of Aert and Brechje named Theunis Aertsen was baptized in the New Amsterdam RDC. Therefore, it has to be assumed that this Theunis died as an infant and they named their second child to honor his memory.
