He married Sarah Croshaw Graves 2/3/1754 in Dover Church, Goochland Co., VA. They had 10 known children.

He was a Deacon in the Grassy Creek Baptist Church in 1770. His land was on Indian Fork of Little Island Creek. His Will is in Will Book 1, p. 273, Granville Co., NC, probated May term, 1780. He is probably buried on his land in the Barnett Cemetery.

Sarah Croshaw Graves (210) was born about 1725 or 1735, died 20 Jan. 1814 in Granville Co., NC, and was buried on the Zachariah Allen homeplace, Granville Co., NC. She married Thomas Barnett, son of John Barnett and Katherine Farrar, on 3 Feb. 1754 in Goochland Co., VA. They settled in Granville Co., NC, where he died in 1780. His will was probated in May 1780.
