Oct 12, 1831, John Cooper, James Cooper, and Jesse Perry the only Legatees of the estate of Thomas Cooper sold to Elijah Pilgram for $150, 130 acres of land in the District of Pickett, on the waters of George's Creek of Saluda River, bounded by lands of Jesse Perry, Nichols Briggs and Rob. H. Briggs which said tract of land was conveyed by Ambrose Bradley and Jesse Perry to Thomas Cooper and by him left to his heirs. Wit: Lemuel A. Perry and R. H. Briggs. Recorded Mar 12, 1832.

Pickens District, SC, and the subsequent Pickens County later became part of Pendleton District. In 1827 Pendleton was divided into two districts, Pickens and Anderson.
