Will written 8-01-1805 in Franklin Co., GA. and listed children: Will of Cornelius Cooper In Franklin County, Georgia, 1805 In the name of God Amen. I Cornelius Cooper of Franklin County and State of Georgia being infirm of body but perfect mind and memory, thanks be to God for the same but calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and Testament. This is to say Principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God who gave itt nothing doubting but at the general Resurrection I shall receive the same by the might power of God, and as touching such wordly estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with in this life I give and bequeath the following manner and from it my body to be buried in a Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executors-and whereas my son, John Cooper, has had land and stock he is to receive no more until my death and also, Sally York, my daughter, and Benjamin Cooper and Cornelius Cooper my sons and Betty Keeton, my daughter and Billy Cooper my son, ! Molly Woodruff has all had part of my estate none of them is to have anything more until my death except Billy Cooper who is to have one-hundred dollars and Betty Keeton fifty dollars more than they have had as also Savary Allen my daughter has had some things they have had but is yet to have one hundred dollars and George Cooper has had one hundred and thirty dollars and is to have one hundred and seventy dollars more and whereas I have two negroes a fellow named Tom and a girl named Bet. The fellow viz Tom is to continue a slave until the last day of December one thousand eight hundred and nineteen and then is to be free.Also the girl Bet is to remain a slave until the last day of December one thousand eight hundred and thirty and then she is to be set free but if she should have any children during her servitude they are to continue until they are thirty five years old. And if after my death there should be anything left after paying the above mentioned sums my property is ! TO BE Sold at twelve months credit to the highest bidder yearly for the negroes to be hired out to the highest bidder yearly for the time they have to serve and the money to be equally divided among my children except my sons Benjamin Cooper and Cornelius Cooper who is to have nothing but what they have had, I do hereby constitute and ordain my two sons Benjamin Cooper and Cornelius Cooper to be my executers of this my last will and testament denying disannulling and revoking all and every other Will and Testament for Executors by me at my time appointed retifying this and no other to be my last will and testament.
