Thomas Hale was born c. 1504 in Codicote, Hertfordshire, England. He married Anne Mitchel. They had three known sons.
Children of Thomas Hale and wife Anne Mitchel:
- RICHARD HALE, b. in 1536 in Codicote; d. on 3 Feb. 1620 in Kings Walden, Hertfordshire; m. (1) in 1550 MARY LAMBERT, b. about 1540; m. (2) DYONISIA GIFFORD of Somersetshire, England, b. about 1572[6].
- WILLIAM HALE b. about 1538; d. in 1594; m. ALICE CAULFIELD.
- JOHN HALE b. about 1540; m. MISS ROLT.
Some sources will claim that sons of Thomas Hale were born at Kings Walden. This is FALSE. Richard, eldest son of Thomas, purchased Kings Walden as a grown man. long after his brothers were born. All the sons of Thomas Hale and Anne Mitchel were born at Codicote, Hertfordshire.
