The only Harwell was: "Tho Harrwell age 29 sailed aboard the Falcon on 19 December 1635" The index only had this one Harrwell/Harwell as being an emigrant.

Do not confuse with the Harrell or Hopewell families. Not the progenitor of Thomas Harrell, the Immigrant.

Origins

https://www.genealogy.com/forum/surnames/topics/harwell/1118/

In a series of articles written in the fall of 1904 for the Giles County (TN) _Pulaski Citizen_ entitled "The History of Pisgah", W. Thomas Carden wrote of the Harwell family:

"Tradition says that in the latter part of the Seventeenth or early part of the Eighteenth Century four brothers named Harwell came to America from the north of England and settled somewhere in Virginia. It is said that they came from Lancastershire, perhaps Lancashire, and from near the village of Blackburn. One of the four died a bachelor."

Disputed Origins

“A Thomas [Foulke] Harewell abandoned the impoverished family home at Besford, near Worcester, and sailed with his brother in 1636 as colonists to Virginia, from where the family eventually spread across the southern states of America.”

Foulk Harewell is NOT Thomas Harwell the emigrant, because there isn't any documentation that supports Foulk leaving England, he is being disconnected from the spouse and children attached to him. Thomas Harwell the emigrant was NOT Sir Edmond Harewell's son. Foulk Harewell, born 1606 England, he was christened on 22 January 1606, Merton, Surrey, England[1][2]. Edmond's sons from his first marriage were: Edmond and John, both died without children. The sons listed for Edmond Harewell and Elisabeth Griffith were: 3rd son: Foulk, 4th son: Nevell. Daughters: Dorathey, Lutterell, Lucey[3]

Disputed Wives

Not the husband of Elizabeth Bailey.

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Bailey-1826

The problem with the attached sources, is that none of them even mention Elizabeth Bailey, let alone who her parents were, nor who she was married to. She wasn't married to Foulk Harewell, there isn't any documentation that shows he ever left England. The only emigrant to America that is recorded is a Thomas Harwell, and he is not connected to the Sir Edmond Harewell family. "Tho Harrwell age 29 sailed aboard the Falcon on 19 December 1635" The index only had this one Harrwell/Harwell as being an emigrant.[1]

There wasn't a Thomas Foulk Harwell, those were two separate individuals, in the 1920's several genealogists were paid to construct family trees, these genealogists would attach families to the visitations, which appears to be what happened here. [2]

On-line trees, without sources have that an Elizabeth Edwards Bailey born 1643, was married to Edmund Harwell born 1639, died 1698. That they were the parents of Thomas B Harwell born 1661, died 1719, and that he was married to Anne Batte. Again no documentation has been found to verify any of this.

Not the husband of Alice Mason.

Lt. Francis Mason, Ancient Planter Did not have a daughter Alice Mason. Gender: Female Birth: 1632 Norfolk, Virginia Death: 1708 (75-76) Lower, Norfolk, Virginia, USA and certainly the children associated with her are actually the children of Alce wife of Thomas Hollowell.
