THOMAS HERBERT was indicted for feloniously and burglariously breaking and entering the dwelling-house of John Macgauran and Dennis Doland , between the hours of twelve and two, at night, on the 17th of September 1790 , and feloniously stealing therein one brass candlestick, value 2 s. and five other candlesticks made of Prince's-metal, value 10 s. their property .
Thomas was tried at Middlesex Gaol Delivery (Old Bailey), 12th January 1791, and sentenced to death, which was later commuted to transportation for life.
Sailed 17 July 1791 from Yarmouth; arrived Port Jackson 14 February 1792
