About Thomas Hodgetts, Convict "Scarborough" 1790
Thomas arrived in Australia as a convict on the 2nd Fleet. Arrived into Sydney and served his sentence there. He got an unconditional pardon and went to Norfolk Island as a policeman.

Thomas Hodgetts was sentenced to seven years transportation for theft. He arrived in Sydney aboard the Scarborough in 1790 as part of the Second Fleet. His wife and three children came out on the Neptune. By 1800 they were living on Norfolk Island where Thomas was working as a constable. In 1806 the family returned to New South Wales where Thomas worked as a blacksmith. He was appointed superintendent of blacksmiths in 1808.
In January 1819 Thomas and his wife and younger children moved to Van Diemen's Land (now Tasmania) to join their son at Norfolk Plains.
