Thomas Morton

[According to the article "Morton Family of Henrico, Prince Edward and New Brunswick" published in the Wm and Mary Quarterly in July 1931, Joseph, Thomas and John were all three sons of the John Morton, Sr. who married Joane Hughes, a widow.]

Thomas Morton, born about 1695 Richmond Co., Virginia; died February 1729-30 Henrico Co., Virginia; married Elizabeth Woodson, daughter of Richard Woodson & Ann Smith, 1718 Virginia. Elizabeth was born 1699 & died 20 September 1740.

Morton Line goes back to Abrahm Michaux & wife Susanne Rochet, both born in Sudan France. They left
France at the time of execution of Huguenots. Went first to Amsterdam, Holland, then to USA. Landed at
Jamestown, VA bought land 30 miles from Jamestown.
