Widow Joane Wade married John Morton in 1682. John Morton’s widow in 1722 was DEBORAH.

[According to the article "Morton Family of Henrico, Prince Edward and New Brunswick" published in the Wm and Mary Quarterly in July 1931, Joseph, Thomas and John were all three sons of the John Morton, Sr. who married Joane Hughes, a widow.]

Name seen as Deborah Joan Sydenham or Hughes. Joanne was married to John Wade (Anes in another place) prior to her marriage to John Morton

In 1691 there appeared a petition of Henry Randolph for 100 acres of land because he had imported Susannah Symonds and Ann Hughes. [Was Ann any relation to Joan?]

supposedly she was from Luisa County Va and arrived from Europe with the Randolphs.

John Morton transferred 200 acres to William Randolph in Chickahominy Swamp

From RootsWeb: It is said John Morton and William Randolph came to Virginia about 1675 on the same ship and probably the about the same age, twenty-two. William Randolph lived in Moreton Morrell Warwickshire west midlands of England. Henrico County Records shows "that John Morton had imported himself and wife from England and was entitled to land grant." Based on this assumption, John was married twice(Deborah Sydenham for first wife is debated?) There is five years difference between second son Winfred 1678 and third son Josiah Morton 1683.

Virginia records shows John Morton married a widow Joane Wade in 1682.

John Morton married Deborah "Joanne" (Sydenham) Hughes (b 1655 co. Kent , England), widow of John Hughes.
