(On June 17 & 19 of 1839, yellow fever cases were admittied to the hosp in Charleston SC from the Elizabeth Bruce, lying at Fitzsimmon's wharf. She had arrived from NYC June 7th, in ballast, after sailing from Liverpool & then Boston & NY, with no incidence of disease.)

 The Elizabeth Bruce, of Boston,  was wrecked on Elbow Reef off Florida, bound for Mobile from Liverpool with crockery, ironware and other cargo, on Jan 11 or 16, 1854.  Some cargo saved. 3387.73 5 155. (N25° 08.65' W80° 15.77) (N25° 08.68 W80° 15.47)
 From the NY Times, Jan 26, 1854:

"The ship Elizabeth Bruce went ashore near Carvsfort Lighthouse, and bilged on the 16th. Part of her cargo was saved."
