Fake Genealogy
It has been mistakenly claimed that Thomas Peadie, here treated, is the father of James Peadie of Ruchill, the same who married Anna Porterfield, but this is wrong. Exhibition Illustrative of Old Glasgow Anna Porterfield's husband was actually the nephew of Thomas Peadie, here treated. Her father-in-law was another James Peadie, the first of Ruchill, and her mother-in-law was Janet Gilhagy

Thomas Peadie, Merchant in Glasgow, is the second son of John Peadie, Skinner in Glasgow. Glasgow Burgesses: 90 His mother was Janet Spreull. He was born before 12 September 1613, the date upon which his baptism was registered at Glasgow in Lanarkshire, Scotland. [National Records of Scotland, Glasgow Baptisms, reference OPR.644/1/1]
Thomas Peadie was a Merchant in Glasgow. He was enrolled as a burgess and guild brother of Glasgow on 20 November 1634, having been admitted in right of being the second son of John Peadie, Skinner, burgess and guild brother. Glasgow Burgesses: 90
His Last Will and Testament
Thomas Peadie made his last will and testament at Glasgow on 31 October 1668. He nominated and appointed Margaret Brock his "meikle lovit spous" as his only executrix and intromitter. He left his part of the free gear to her and appointed her as tutrorix testamentar to "James, Bessie and Hellein Peadies my lawfull childring during thr pupillarity". He also nominated and appointed "James and Jon Peadies & Rot Corss" to be overseers to the children during their minority. Confirmation was granted to Margaret Brock on 11 December 1669.
