DAR# A091864
Aged 49 years
Graciously provided by Mike Osiol as taken from the Daily Pottstown Ledger November 12 1904:
"Col. Thomas Potts was one of 13 children of John Potts, the founder of Pottstown. He was married to Anna Nutt at Coventry. During the Revolutionary War, he was indefatigable in his efforts, both in personal service and by his money, to bring the cause of the colonists to a successful issue."
Anna Nutt was his first cousin, the only child of Thomas' mother's sister. (p. 123, op.cit. below)
Thomas served on an early County council to send delegates to the Continental Convention. (see <timeline>)
A the time of the Valley Forge encampment, the Thomas Potts family hosted Washington on more than one occasion. See: https://www.geni.com/documents/view?doc_id=6000000184002800000
That the Potts family were ironworkers is no small wonder...
