Thomas Reynolds

Thomas Reynold's birth/baptism date and place is unknown.

The following evidence confirms Thomas was a son of Thomas Reynolds and Elizabeth nee Pilcher of Adisham, Kent:

• Thomas Reynold senior's will dated 1779 lists sons Henry, Thomas and George Frederick.
• sisters Elizabeth Belsey and Judith Belsey of Nonington are known to have married brothers John Pilcher Reynolds and Henry Reynolds of Adisham. Elizabeth Belsey and John Pilcher Reynolds were married at St. Katherine Cree Church, London. Third sister Mary Belsey married Thomas Reynolds on the 27th Feb 1785 also at St Katherine Cree Church, London.
• Two letters in the possession of descendants of Henry Reynolds of Adisham confirm some of the relationships between members of this family. The first was written by a "Thomas Reynolds" to his mother, "Mrs Reynolds of Adisham", from London on the 17th July 1790. The second was written by a child named "Mary Reynolds" to her grandmother, a "Mrs Reynolds favordby Mr. H. Reynolds", from London in 1801. The names and relationships mentioned in this letter match those of this Thomas's daughter Mary b.c.1791. (see daughter Mary's profile for transcription).

This Thomas is believed to have died c1800, leaving his orphaned children in the care of friends and relatives.
