About Thomas Walker
Miranda on same stone. Thomas Walker was a partner of Thomas H. Borden and Henry W. Johnson as one of Stephen F. Austin's Old Three Hundred colonists. They received title to a sitio of land in present Brazoria County on July 29, 1824. Worth S. Ray, in Austin Colony Pioneers, records that Thomas Walker, a son of James Walker, married Amanda Middleton on May 20, 1840. Whether or not this Thomas Walker is the original colonist is not certain.
