The land that Thomas and his brother Mark owned, bordered Catoctin Creek, Frederick County, Maryland, and beginning in 1741, they wre overseers of the road from Catoctoin, Maryland, to South Mountain.

Information Per Descendant Robert "Bob" Whittaker: The marker we set for Thomas and Mary Wilson Whitaker is a Memorial marker. I never found the graves. They are probably buried somewhere on their property on Double Creek, Surry County, NC. I asked and was granted permission to set the granite marker in front of a restored Mark York Tavern in Historical Rockford, Surry County, NC. The Mark York Tavern is within 1/2 mile of their property. I am not sure how one would create a Finda Grave Memorial when the marker is not in a cemetery. Bob.
