Thyrza Lombard (1931 – 2009)
Brief overview:
Thyrza (77), from Clarens was found in her bedroom by a domestic worker on Monday morning. She had been strangled in her home with a shoelace.
Lombard was known for always giving food or money to people who came knocking on the door. The deceased's son, Pierre Lombard from Botswana. According to him Mashinini is the son of a garden worker who worked with for mother. His mother had already paid bail for the worker when he was arrested for theft. She had regularly given him money and food. Mr. Lombard suspects his mother stopped doing that. "Helping others cost her her life."
