DIVINAGRACIA, Tranquilino J. - Lawyer; res. Dumangas, Iloilo.
Born in Dumangas, Iloilo, on July 6, 1886; son of Jose Divinagracia and Dolores Villa; married to the former Miss Julita R. Peñaflorida of Pototan, Iloilo, by whom he has four children: Consuelo, Hernando, Teresita, Tranquilino Jr. After learning his first letters in his home town, he attended the Instituto de Enseñanza Libre de Molo, Iloilo, where he completed his secondary course. Coming to Manila, he enrolled in the University of Santo Tomas where he received his degree of Bachelor of Laws in 1911. He, however, was admitted to the bar in 1919. He was justice of the peace of Janiuay and Lambunao and later of Dumangas. He was the organizer and president of the Rural Bank of Dumangas, Iloilo. At present he is the president of the Pototan Agricultura Marketing, Inc., he being interested in the agricultural development of his locality. In 1934, he was elected delegate to the Constitutional Convention from the fourth district of Iloilo. Pro-HHC by political affiliation, and Roman Catholic by religion.
