Trotte Petersson (Eka family)

Privy Council

1. Trotte Petersson, lived another 30 Nov. 1362, there was possibly already 1 sept. 1363 and certainly 27 Aug. 1364. Mentioned 1333, was Chief of the Falkenberg 29 Feb. 1344; was still called May 8, 1348, only "nobilis vir" but was knight Feb 2. 1349; was chief of the Varberg on June 18, 1349, was governor of Tveta (Jönk.) Nov. 28; 1353, was Counsel (March 19, 1351) March 6, 1358; is called May 31 and June 11, 1361 the King's "Justice".

G. married Ingegerd Johansdotter (illegitimate Folkungaätt), daughter of the lawyer Johan Magnusson. She was 4 March 1367 round. m. the knight Henrik Reventlow and still lived 14 Jan. 1390th

As a castle captain, T. was already in Magnus Eriksson's service in the 1340s, and during the following period up to the beginning of the 1360s, he was often found in the king's immediate surroundings as his fellow sealer, liftman or trusted servant. It is clear that he had Magnus' confidence, since he held Falkenberg shortly after the peace with Denmark in 1343, when Halland, after prolonged battles, was finally recognized as Swedish, and since then became chief of the Varberg, northern Halland's most important stronghold. As far as you can see, he was one of those who remained Magnus Eriksson faithful in the times of adversity. In 1348 he seems to have participated in the king's campaign to Russia, and it was probably during the battles there that he acquired the knighthood. Then in 1351, during the second campaign of Magnus, the Pope's representative, the Swedish krona granted a large money loan, T. was one of the absent major men whose bail was promised. In the agreement on this loan he is called for the first time the Council of Ministers, but this letter includes among the members of the Council several persons, who appear to have been counted only temporarily. It was not until 1358 that he was a sure member of the council. During Erik Magnusson's feud 1356–59 he stood faithfully on Magnus' side and appears in several letters as his pledgee. Two letters from 1361, issued in the king's name and sealed with his judgment seal, are testified by T. as the king's "justice of justice". This title means, with all certainty, that T. has temporarily held approximately the same position as the Danish Chancellor (justice) and thus had the right to issue letters of judgment in the King's name and seal them with the judgment seal; who was therefore entrusted to him. It is not known what attitude T. adopted during the conflict between Magnus and his son Håkan 1361–62. After the reconciliation of the two parties in the spring of 1362, he acted as Håkan's counsel and later, in the name of the latter, also dropped them; in Södermanland. After 1362 there is no evidence that T. was still alive. It is possible that he was already dead Sept. 1. 1363, when his wife testified that a person paid a debt to her husband, and in any case he must have been dead Aug 27. 1364, when his son owned and sold land belonging to T. After 1362 there is no evidence that T. was still alive. It is possible that he was already dead Sept. 1. 1363, when his wife testified that a person paid a debt to her husband, and in any case he must have been dead Aug 27. 1364, when his son owned and sold land belonging to T. After 1362 there is no evidence that T. was still alive. It is possible that he was already dead Sept. 1. 1363, when his wife testified that a person paid a debt to her husband, and in any case he must have been dead Aug 27. 1364, when his son owned and sold land belonging to T.
