In the following years, T's name is found in most of the most important state-law and diplomatic acts, which were issued by Queen Margareta and Erik of Pomerania in association with the Swedish Council. Bielke, Relatives

By The Swedish Biographical Dictionary

Bielke, an old Swedish noble family, which already at its first appearance in the sources in 1283 belonged to the highest secular aristocracy and then without interruption for half a millennium played a particularly prominent role in Sweden's history. It lacked a family name during the Middle Ages but adopted the name in the 16th century. B. after the ancient coat of arms: two beams (in a letter to the Danish knight Anders Bille of 1546, the below-mentioned Nils Pederson writes to Åkerö «Niels Bielke», which is probably the oldest known example of a member of the family using it then accepted the family name). The family's ancestral home is certainly Småland and can perhaps be determined more precisely to Västbo district in the said province. In southwestern Västbo (parishes of Långaryd and Villstad) and in a neighboring Hallandssocken (Torup), the farms are located, which at the earliest can be ascertained to have been in the possession of the family, and on Dannäs' farm and parish in the south-eastern part of the district probably refers to the nickname Dannæs (Dannes), which one of the oldest known family members adopted (see below). The family's main estate was otherwise from the first half of the 14th century Kråkerum in Mönsterås' parish, Kalmar County, which has been in its possession for centuries. The history of the family begins with the brothersTure Kettilsson (1283–1322) and Nils Kettilsson (1295–1304). About their father Kettil we know nothing but the first name; a guess that he would be identical with the Småland savior named Kettil Pedersson, who is mentioned in a couple of letters of 1266 and 1268, is probably wrong. Both Ture and Nils Kettilssöner were knights, but in the political field only the former (see below 1) seems to have asserted themselves. Nils Kettilsson's line died out on the male side already with his son, the knight and councilor Gustaf Nilsson , lawyer in Tiohärad, d 1341 or 1342, and Ture Kettilsson is thus the ancestor of all the following Bielkars. He left five sons, of whom three: Erik Turesson , Sten Turessonand Nils Turesson (see below 2, 3 and 4) took advanced positions during the reign of King Magnus Eriksson. Equally the two other sons, the knight Nils Dannæs or Dannes (1325-57) and the gunsmith Bengt Turesson(1341–59), is sometimes mentioned as a member of the Council, but neither belonged to the leading political figures. The former lived in Värend, where he probably had his manor somewhere in Norrvidinge or Uppvidinge districts, but also had land holdings in other parts of the country and owned, among other things. a. (until 1352) the well-known manor Nynäs in Ösmo parish on Södertörn, which he got with his first wife. When he is first traced in preserved sources in 1325, he is still simply called Nils Turesson (without nickname) but is then invariably mentioned Nils Dannæs (Dannes) with the removal of the father's name. The reason for the name change was undoubtedly that he - a relationship, which also otherwise in admittedly extremely rare exceptional cases occurred in Sweden during the Middle Ages - had a (probably younger) brother with the same baptismal name as him (see above), from which he might need to differ by a special recognition name (some family name was Dannæs not, and it was not inherited by his son). Mr. Nils was already in 1325 married to Ingeborg Laurensdotter, daughter of the knight Laurens Botolfsson (two stars) and wife Iliana. This wife Ingeborg accompanied, according to information against the man's will, itSt. Birgitta on her voyage to Rome in 1349 and died during the descent into Milan. Nils Dannæs then remarried to Katarina Pedersdotter, d. Around 1404, probably daughter of the Småland savior Peder Karlsson (lion) and after Nils' death remarried 1) to Niklis Bengtsson (lion face), 2) to Birger Knutsson Trolle (see if her closer to the article Bengt Niklisson ). In this later marriage, Mr. Nils, who is last mentioned March 20, 1357 (B. 15, b. 112 v., RA), had a son the knight Erik Nilsson, d without sons 1402 (before March 15). - While other lineages descended from Ture Kettilsson soon became extinct, the above-mentioned Bengt Turesson left in his marriage to Saint Birgitta's niece Ingeborg Magnusdotter (lion), d 1390 (before 28 June), two sons: Marshal Sten Bengtsson and the Riksrådet and Upplandslagmannen Ture Bengts (see below 5 and 6), each of which became the ancestor of numerous offspring. The latter's last male descendants were the grandsons Ture Stensson , d 1439, and Knut Stensson , d 1451 (before 11 Nov.), both councilors and Upplandslagmän, sons of King Karl Knutsson's stepfather, the councilor. Sten Turesson(see below 8). All the following family members are descended from the above-mentioned Sten Bengtsson's son Riksrådet and Ölandslagmannen Ture Stensson (see below 7) and his son Marsh Ture Turesson , King Karl and Sten Sture the Elder's contemporary (see below 9). Three of Ture Turesson's sons: Sten Turesson , Peder Turesson and Erik Turesson (see below 10, 11 and 12) were noted members of the Riksrådet during the later Sturetiden. The former died childless; from the latter two, on the other hand, are the two genealogical branches, on which the family during the older Vasa period is divided. Among Erik Turesson's sons are Councilors Ture Eriksson and Axel Eriksson(see below 13 and 14). The latter's son, the Riksrådet and the governor of Östergötland Johan Axelsson to Liljestad, d 22 Apr. 1576, was the father of John III 's queen Gunilla B . (see this) and to the Riksråd Axel B. , of whom the latter died in 1597 as the last male member of Erik Turesson's family branch. Peder Turesson's line proved all the more viable, and of his sons, Chamberlain Nils Pedersson and Councilor Ture Pedersson (see below 15 and 16) each received numerous descendants. A ) Nils Pederson's line: Nils Pederson's sons, councilors Hogenskild B ., Baron 1569 Klas B . andSignature B . (see below 17, 18 and 19), all played a prominent role in the history of the later Vasa period. The latter's grandson Signature B . (d 1647) closed on the male side Nils Pedersson's family branch. B ) Signature Pederson's line: Signature Pederson's sons Chancellor Svante B . and privy Nils B . (see below 20 and 21) elevated both in friherrligt position 12 May 1608. Svante B's baronial acetic assumed, however, already in 1638 with his son privy Sten B . (see below 22). From the above-mentioned Baron Nils (Turesson) B. all later lines of the Bielke family descend. a ) Count and Roman War Count Family B .: The family was founded by Nils B's grandson the Governor General and the Field MarshalNils B . (see below 25), which received countable dignity 10 dec. 1687 after becoming Roman count the year before. His older son, Major-General and the President Carl Gustaf B . (see below 26), was the father of Papal Chamberlain and Roman Senator Nils B . (see below 28). They remain in Sweden surviving family members nedstämma from the previously mentioned Governor General and Field Marshal Nils B's younger son, Privy Council Ture Gabriel B . (see below 27). Of his descendants, his son, the Riksdag and President Nils Adam B in particular . (see below 30), and his grandson art collector and donor Axel Gabriel B . (see below 32), made himself noticed, b) Baronial family B .: Among the above mentioned Nils (Turesson) B's sons labeled privy Gustaf B . (see below 23) and national tax master Sten B . (see below 24) which by son governor Signature B . (b. 1655, d 1717) was grandfather of the Vice President of Turku Appeal Stone Carl B . (see below 29), whose son Signature Johan B . (see below 31) the baronial family joined on the sword side in 1792.
