We do not know Unica's parents, maiden name, nor her place or date of birth.

Birth date 1615 is a guess, possibly based on the birth date of her eldest, born c. 1639.

Marriages

Unica married three times.

She married first to Clement Buxton.[1] Unica and Clement had four children.[2] Clement died on 2 August 1657 of the general sickness so prevalent at Stamford that summer (now thought to be malaria).[2] She married 2nd, on "25 5 1658" (25 July 1658) at Stamford, as his 2nd, to Peter Brown.[3]Peter's first wife, Elizabeth, died in the summer of 1657 (also of malaria?). Peter died within a month of his marriage to Unica, on "22 6 1658." (22 Aug 1658)[3] Unica and Peter had no children together. She married 3rd, on "9: 1: 59" (9 March 1658/9), to Nicholas Knapp.[1][4] Children

She appears to have died at Stamford in early April 1670. The will of Nicholas Knapp, made on 15 April 1670, probably shortly after her death, after providing for his own natural children, included the following provision for Unica's daughters: "I give to my two daughters in law (i.e. stepdaughters) viz: Sarah and Uneca Buxton all their others clothes as a free gift: except one hat and one new petticoat which my will is that they should have owned of their portions: also I will and bequeath unto Unice Buxton the new bible as a free gift (also) My will is that the portions due to my two daughters in law, viz: Sarah Buxton and Uneca Boxton out of the estate of their father Clement Buxton I say that their portions be currently payd according to their proportion of that inventorie."[2] Sources
