About Conrad Emerich
This unknown Emmerich brother did not take part in the 1709-1710 flotilla to New York, but instead married and stayed in Germany. A son of his, Andreas, emigrated to Pennsylvania in 1749.
The evidence that Andreas, the immigrant, came from Germany is a naturalization record from 1749. He was also apparently illiterate in English, as was his son John. And yet, an unquestionable descendant of his shares a DNA overlap with many New York Emmerich descendants, and also there is the fact that Andreas the immigrant settled in the same town (Fredericksburg, Lebanon County) as did his uncle Andreas, which web trees generally presume to be his father.
