Unknown father of Edward Dorsey

Y-DNA evidence states flatly that Edward Dorsey and his descendants have no connection to the Norman Darcy/D'Arcy family. The particular Dorsey haplotype (R-M269) hints at a possible Irish origin, maybe at several removes. (See also discussions concerning "Hockley-in-the-Hole".)

The son baptised 27 Aug 1570, to Thomas DARCY of Hornby Castle (not "Hornsbye"), and his wife Elizabeth nee CONYERS, was named Conyers DARCY. His mother died in 1572, and the father married twice more. Thomas DARCY had many more sons, one of whom was indeed named "Edward" (he was to receive 100 marks in his father's Will of 1605), but Dugdale's Visitation of Yorkshire gives no indication that he went to America. https://www.ancestry.com/boards/surnames.dorsey/541.1/mb.ashx
