About Ursula Henderson
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Keeling-822
- Born about 1663 in New Kent County, Colony of Virginia
- Daughter of George (Kelling) Keeling and Ursula (Fleming) Keeling
- Sister of Mary (Keeling) Williams
- Wife of Thomas Henderson — married [date unknown] [location unknown]
- Mother of Richard Henderson
- Died about 1697 at about age 34 in New Kent County, Colony of Virginia
Suggested parents of George Keeling and Ursula Fleming are unproven. In fact, the Find A Grave Memorial for Ursula (Fleming) Keeling has the same\similar birth and death dates as are on this profile. It seems obvious no one knows the parentage of the Ursula Keeling who married Thomas Henderson.
The marriage information cited above is supposedly taken from ancestry.com Christ Church Parish, Virginia Records, 1653-1812. Provo, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations Inc, 1999. I have searched the Christ Church Parish Records on both ancestry.com and in the digitized version at archive.org. I did not find the cited record. Shirley Dalton accessed 10 Jan 2021
It is assumed by researchers that Ursula Keeling was the mother of Thomas Henderson's suggested children:
- Richard Henderson
- Edward Henderson
- Samuel Henderson
- Sarah Henderson
- Thomas Henderson
- William Henderson
- Ursula (Henderson) Reid
These children need to be proven and sourced.
Origins
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Keeling-21
The Keeling line is closely woven with Hendersons by marriages between the two families.[1] George and Ursula's children are generally reported as:
- George
- Richard
- Mary, b. 26 Sep 1684, m. John Williams, d. 06 Sep 1775
- Ursula, m. Thomas Henderson
It seems certain that Captain Keeling was a vestryman of old Blissland Parish and in 1704 owned 1,500 acres of land in New Kent County Virginia. He was High Sheriff there from 1706-1709, thus a man of some eminence, though not at all the "Lord" Keeling some eager descendants have chosen to dub him. It is "proven" by several researchers that he came to New Kent County sometime after 1695 from York County.[1]
