Mrs. VERGIE (RAMBIN) GILMER was the daughter of Mrs. Hattie Francis (Williams) Rambin and Paul Lavaughn Rambin.
She was the wife of Robert Lewis Gilmer.
Obituary
"Services for Vergie Rambin Gilmer, 81, of 3022 Edson Boulevard, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Wiliam O'Hanlon, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery under direction of Marshall Street Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. today at the Marshall Street Chapel. Mrs. Gilmer died after a short illness on Monday at Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport. A Roberson native, she had lived in Shreveport most of her life. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. Survivors include a son, William Paul Gilmer, of Shreveport; four daughters, Mrs. Robbie Thornton, of Shreveport, Mary Gray, of Longview, Texas, Dorothy Swayze, of Dallas, Texas, and Helen Taylor, of London, England; two sisters, Claudie Swenson and Minnie Kilpatrick, both of Shreveport; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Edgar Bedford 'E.B.' Davis III, William R. Mason, Peyton R. Rambin, Randy Stevens, Bill Gilmer Jr. and Joe Eston Walding. Arrangements under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home."
