She is survived by her beloved children Linda (late Gerald) Gamblin of Valparaiso, IN; Gerald (Diana) Blissmer of Crown Point, IN; Joyce (Joseph) Crook of Valparaiso, IN; Thomas Blissmer and Janice (Larry) Planer of Hammond, IN; 19 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; 2 nieces and 1 nephew.
Preceded in death by husbands William Blissmer and Charles Wolak; son James Blissmer; daughter Audrey (Joe) Sasseen; 6 brothers and 3 sister.
Funeral Services Saturday 11:30 AM at Castle Hill Funeral Home 248 155th PL. Calumet City, IL to St. Andrew the Apostle Church 12 noon Mass of Christian Burial, Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation Friday from 2-8 PM at the funeral home.
Verna previously worked at St. Margaret Hospital in the Maternity ward as a Nurse's Aid; she was a lifetime member of the Hammond Moose Lodge 570, Verna loved to crochet, cook, play Bingo spend time with her family who will deeply miss her.
