Brief overview:

Double murder of Vic (77) and his wife Elise Klopper-Smit (65). Hofmeyr police gained entry into the property through a window and found the murdered couple tied up, with multiple wounds to their upper body. Police arrested a 54-year-old man following the brutal murder. Police Spokesperson Colonel Michelle Matroos says the bodies were discovered when a relative raised the alarm when she could not reach them on the phone. She made contact with the police when she found the house locked. Matroos called the murder a brutal and callous attack on a defenceless couple, and believes the suspect was known by the victims. He will appear in court soon.
