Obituary

Private funeral services for Tot Price were Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, in Hamilton with Greg Brumley officiating.

Burial was in Hamilton City Cemetery.

Mrs. Price died Thursday, January 31, at Russellville Hospital. She was born Feb. 4, 1924, in Chambers County to Annie Laura and Brady Chandler. She was an Auburn High School graduate and in 1947 moved to Moulton with her husband, Hoyt, who had taken a job as Assistant County Agricultural Agent working with the 4-H Club. They lived in Moulton until 1963. She worked in Moulton as a florist, later as a beautician owning and operating her own shop.Mrs. Price was an artist who enjoyed working in acrylics and oils. While in Moulton, she was an active member of the Moulton Church of Christ. After moving to Hamilton in 1963, much of her energies were channeled into family genealogy. She became one of about 200 Certified Genealogists in the U.S. with her efforts culminating in 1988 in the authoring of a book, "Ancestors and Descendants of John Price, Immigrant to Virginia 1610-11.
