General regret is felt in Burley at the death at her home, Leafy Screen, of Miss Violet Grahame, fifth daughter of the late Mr. Richard Grahame, of Toronto, Canada. Miss Grahame had been a Burley resident for many years.

Actively associated with many parochial institutions, she took a deep interest in church matters, was president of the local branch of the League of Nations Union, and a trustee of the Village Hall.

Miss Grahame was a niece of the late Mr. William Henry Hill, of Barlanark, Lanarkshire, and the family associations with Burley date back for generations.
