Virginia Power-Dabbs

Virgina had a Jewish father, and Catholic mother. After divorcing Lawrence Power, she married Don Dabbs.

Her father Charles Phillip Ofner (b 1883) married a Catholic Margaret Elizabeth Shaeffer (b 1882) and raised his family Catholic. Moved his family to San Antonio, Texas. Visited St. Louis relatives every couple of years after Maggie died.

Sisters, Mary Virginia & Margaret Elizabeth were aware of their Jewish roots, but kept them secret after moving to San Antonio Texas in childhood. Their descendants' surnames are Power, Barksdale, Ford, Lyle, Looper, & Baremore.

Brother, Charles Francis Ofner, may have been kept unaware of his father's Jewish roots. His sons are Charles Richter Ofner (Texas) and Lee Hammond Ofner (Colorado). Bride Ruth Richter was Texan.
