Margaret Elizabeth Ford

Maggie was one of three children of a Jewish father and Catholic mother.

Charles Phillip Ofner (b 1883) married a Catholic Margaret Elizabeth Shaeffer (b 1882) and raised his family Catholic. Moved his family to San Antonio, Texas. Visited St. Louis relatives every couple of years after Maggie died.

Daughters Mary Virginia & Margaret Elizabeth were aware of their Jewish roots, but kept them secret after moving to San Antonio Texas in childhood. Their descendants' surnames are Power, Barksdale, Ford, Lyle, Looper, & Baremore.

Son Charles Francis Ofner, who may still be living, may have been kept unaware of his father's Jewish roots. His sons were Charles (Texas) and Lee (Colorado). Bride Ruth Richter was Texan.
