About Vita Kaufman
Vita was a descendent of the pnei yehoshua and requested to be buried near him when she died in Frankfurt am Main. He was her 4th great grandfather.
In the sefer ateres zikainim it says that R Moishe Meir Landau Melitz Dayen had son Yaakov Yitzckak and that Yaakov Yitzckak had a son Yoel and a daughter Vita. In footnote 39 it says that Vita had a son that went and learned in Brodie and then he went to his uncle Reb Yoel who helped him get into Yeshivas Presberg. He then left Yeshiva and wanted to learn in university. Vita went and davened by the kever of the pnei yehoshua that he shouldn't be accepted, but her tifilos were not answered and he became a rabbi in Yugoslovia.
Per Shlomo Freilich the family came from Gorlice / Duchla
Per Shlomo Freilich she had a son who was a Rav in Ugoslovia prior to the war. Had a PHD wrote two booklets - a thesis on Yiov and the Talmud; the other about his visit to Palestine; They are in the Hebrew University library.
He was an ardent zionist.
He once came to visit Shea Kaufman they gave him honor when he visited in Gorlice. Shlomo Freilich was surprised to hear that because he was a modern Rav and the family Chasidim.
