WILL OF DAVID TEMPLETON In the name of God, Amen. I David TEMPLETON Senr. of South Carolina, Laurens District, being of sound and disposing mind and memory but weak in body. And calling to mind the uncertainty of life and being desirous of disposing of all such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with, and make this my last will in manner following, what is to say. I desire that all my lawful debts and funeral expences to be paid out of the sum of eleven hundred dollars to be paid for four negroes sold to Doctor Ross at two installments in the course of two years, VIZ, LIBY, TOM, MATILDA and HENRY. The remainder of the money to be equally divided between by four children, DAVID TEMPLETON, JAMES TEMPLETON, JOHN TEMPLETON and Robert HANNA, my heirs. I give all my land and property, my household and and plantation furniture, except the dutch plow and furniture belonging to it for Robert Templeton all my stock that is cows and hogs. (Except one heafer and shoat, it being belong to my negro girl Lotty), be equally divided between by other two heirs Robert Templeton and William Templeton. I will my black man to my grandson David Hanna for his property to do as he may think proper with. I desire that my negro woman Lotty, and her future offspring may be free so long as they may live and that Doctor Ross act as guardian for her or them. And lastly, I do constitute and appoint my two friends Doctor George Ross and Creek William Craig executors, of this my last will and testament by me heretofore made in testimony where of i have hereunto set my hand and affixed by seal, this the 19th day of April, 1817. REHOBETH METHODIST CHURCH CEMETERY Turn right off of Clinton-Cross Anchor Highway # 56 (North of Clinton) on County Road #26 About two miles turn off on a dirt road (just this side of Antioch Church). Cemetery is in the woods about mile down the dirt road. The Cemetery has been abandoned for many years.
