Walthari (also Waltheri, Latin: Waltharius) son of Wacho from his third wife Silinga, was a king of the Lombards from 539 to 546. He was an infant king, and rulership of the kingdom was administered by Audoin. Audoin probably killed Waltari before he reached manhood, in order to gain the throne for himself around 546, and led the Lombards into Pannonia. Procopius mentions he died of disease. He was the last of the Lething Dynasty.

Waltari var konge over langobardene fra ca 539 til ca 546.

Han etterfulgte sin far Wacho og de tilhørte det letingiske dynasti som var oppkalt etter Lethu som skal ha vært langobardenes konge, sannsynligvis i det 4. århundre.

Langobardene var et germansk folkeslag som var på vandring sørover og østover i Europa tidlig i folkevandringstiden. De nevnes allerede hos den romerske historikeren Tacitus i hans bok Germania fra 98 e. Kr. og de ble av ham betegnet som dyktige krigere.

På Wachos tid hadde langobardene underlagt seg store områder rundt det nåværende Østerrike og Ungarn, fra Böhmen til Pannonia. Wacho var på slutten av sin regjeringstid en av de mektigste konger i Sentral-Europa. Han døde sannsynligvis i 539 mens hans sønn Waltari bare var et barn.

Waltaris mor var Silinga, datter av herulernes konge og hun var Wachos tredje hustru.

Under barnekongen ble kongeriket administrert av Audoin som sannsynligvis drepte Waltari etter at han hadde regjert i sju år

Audoin overtok da selv som konge. Ifølge den romerske historikeren Prokopius døde Waltari av sykdom. Med Waltaris død var også herredømmet til det letingiske dynasti over etter at de hadde ledet langobardene i sju generasjoner.
