About Walter Everett Bell
Walter was very active in politics at all levels. He ran for State Representative on the Democratic ticket in a Republican district. He worked as Superintendent for the State Highway Department, auto salesman, and auctioneer. He died of a heart attack at age 56 after finishing dinner in a restaurant in Alger, MI. He left a 44 year old widow and six year old son in addition to three other adult children. He spent a lifetime in Bay, Arenac, Iosco and Ogemaw counties. He campaigned extensively for the election of G. Mennen Williams for governor and attended his inauguration in Lansing.
