About Walter Cann
Excerpt from a letter from Uncle Laurie to John, dated January 15, 1987.
"Walter (No. 3). I remember him well as he was a gentleman's gardener and he too had a flock of sheep and he and I had to work hand in glove, so to speak. I don't recall we ever having a cross word. He died at the early age of 47 of angina pectoris in 1936. Walter had three children - or rather Nell did. They had Nipper (always called Herbert but his other two forenames were Walter George.) and two daughters Lena and Ida. The latter had four children. I'm not sure about Lena, but there was a set of twins. Walter was one of my brothers who served in the world war, (Albert having volunteered and came across with the Canadian Red Cross)."
