Walter Chiles was the son of Walter Chiles and Elizabeth Sanders. The family arrived in Virginia in 1638. "Walter Chiles Snr has fitted out his own ship and returned to Virginia with his wife, Elizabeth, and sons."[1] [2]
He was born 20 Mar 1630 in St Mary Redcliff Parish, Somerset, England, and died between Nov. 15, 1671 when he made his will; and May 15, 1672 when widow Susannah presented the will for probate. She was his second wife; he was first married to Mary Page after 1653.
Marriage 1: Walter Chiles (1630-1671) and Mary Page (abt 1648-Abt 1669) were married about 1663. She was the daughter of Col. John Page and Alice Lukin
Their children were:
- Elizabeth Chiles, born about 24 Feb 1665, married Henry Tyler
- John Chiles, born about 1669, married 1) Mary Boucher 2) Elender Webber
Marriage 2: Walter Chiles and Susanna Brooke (1635-1717) were married between 1668 and 1670. She was the daughter of Walter Brooks.
