About Whitfield Chalk, (Major)
GEDCOM Note
Was a Major in the Texas War of Independence. He fought on the Mier Expedition, but escaped after the Battle before the drawing of the black beans. He and St. Clair were the only two who escaped almost certain death. They escaped on Christmas Day 1842.
1848 - He was first Sheriff of Williamson Co., TX.
