I remember hearing about Brother Al teaching in Stockton, California, and we got an occasional card from him. Then he finally retuned to Dayton. Brother Lou got Prather and me football tickets on the 50-yard line to watch the University of Dayton football team. Surrounding us at our seats were many important people, including football stars. Brother Lou's room, in the building facing the stadium, gave him the opportunity to watch the game from his window. He would invite close members of the family to watch with him. I was always so proud to tell people that I had 2 uncles who were important Professors at the University of Dayton. Mary Rita Malott
Our family went to one of Brother Al’s lectures in the auditorium of Beavercreek High School in the mid 1950’s. It was packed. Brother Al lectured on the dangers of communism and how Russia could infiltrate the United States and the consequences. It was referred to as the Cold War. It was quite scary to think that we could ever come under communist rule. He talked about the John Birch Society, the KGB, the military and many communist organizations. It was so interesting, informative and frightening. I was proud to say that he was my great uncle. Kathleen Rose Puckett Brother Al taught in Marianist high schools in California, before he returned to Ohio, where he became a Professor at the University of Dayton.
