Wilbur M. Weidman

Wilbur "Whip" M. Weidman 64, of 320 Lititz Rd, Manheim died Saturday while mowing the lawn at Long Memorial Methodist Church, Neffsville. An autopsy was ordered. He was the husband of Joan A. Landis Weidman. They celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary last year. Born in Clay Township, he was the son of the late Milton and Susan Miley Weidman. He lived in Lancaster County most of his life. Weidman retired in 1987 after 41 years as a general laborer with the Wilbur Chocolate Co, Lititz. He was a member of Long Memorial Methodist Church, Neffsville, where he was formerly a custodian for eight years and formerly a member of the administrative board. He was an Army veteran of World War II. His hobbies were woodworking and crafts. In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Marshall L. Weidman, Grand Rapids, Mich.; Linda, wife of Michael Schell, Lititz; Dennis R. Weidman, Manheim; Patty, wife of Dennis Dietrich, Lebanon; and Douglas W. Weidman, Manheim. Eleven grandchildren also survive in addition to one great-grandchild and seven sisters, Bertha Hirneisen, Stevens; Roma Frable, Ephrata; Bernice Ricci, Pottstown; Mary Gibble, Ethel Bear, Clara Chernich and Maybelle Palm, all of Lititz.
