Wilford Barlow Called By Death
Wilford Barlow, a resident of Bountiful for upwards of three-forth's of a century passed away at his home, early yesterday afternoon. His health had been failing for the past three or four months. He was over seventy-two years of age.
He was born in Salt Lake, but lived in Bountiful practically all his life with the exception of a about a year and a half that he helped to colonize Arizona, being located at Sunset on the Little Colorado river.
He was the son of Israel and Elizabeth Haven Barlow, one of the early stalwart pioneers of Bountiful. He had a number of brothers and sisters who were abiding citizens of the town for many years but the greater number of them have preceded him in death.
January 24, 1876, just prior to leaving (Feb. 2) with the caravan of teams from this state to colonize Arizona, he married Laura A. Jackson, who together with the following children survive her; Mrs. Florence Waddell, Salt Lake City, who together with her husband, Dr. Wm. M. Waddell, are touring the East, but she was located at Montreal, so she will be home for the funeral; W. Walter and Willard Barlow, Bountiful; Mrs. Cora Briggs, Layton; R. J. Barlow, Bountiful; Harold Barlow, Farmington; Haven, La Marr and La Vaun, Bountiful and Mary Ferrin, Wilcox, Arizona. There are twenty-five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Date for holding the funeral not definitely set but will likely be next Tuesday afternoon in the Bountiful First ward Tabernacle. It is thought that a definite announcement can be made Sunday.
