Their graves and the three siblings of William in the Jewish section of Prague cemetery are preserved. The Bodenheimer felt themselves to be German citizens of the Jewish faith. The founder directory of Dillmann Foundation 1892 25-year anniversary of Dillmann-Gymnasium, which was particularly welcomed as secondary school because of the care of Sciences of the merchants, Jacob Bodenheimer is listed, along with many other Jewish name.

In the magnificent new building Tulpenstraße 5 in the new feudal district - the house was unfortunately destroyed during the war - drew 1915 William with his sisters Frida and Selma, into a spacious four bedroom apartment, furnished with valuable furniture and "paintings of Swabia Baumeister, Schlemmer, cleaner, Pleuer" as a friend later wrote.

Only Wilhelm took the path to destruction. Two married sisters emigrated to the United States, brother Max Isidor went to Palestine in 1935. This Dr. Max Isidor Bodenheimer, a lawyer in Cologne, became famous as a Zionist and friend Theodor Herzl. Unlike Max Isidor Wilhelm probably belonged to the many Jews "who lived there in their usual optimism" as his brother, the Zionist, puts it. From 1939 Wilhelm planned after all to pull brother to Jerusalem. A lively exchange of letters between the brothers, niece Hannah Henriette and the families who emigrated to USA sisters testifies to the attempt to emigrate to Palestine at the last moment. More than 200 pages are in? Society for the Commemoration of Max Bodenheimer and of Henriette Hannah Bodenheimer, "a department? Central Zionist Archives", held in Jerusalem.
